Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad participates at the SAARC – AHAN Exhibition of Handicrafts

The High Commission of Sri Lanka, Islamabad participated at the three day exhibition titled “South Asian Convention and Exhibition on Handicrafts Alleviating Poverty through Skill Development” organized by Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation, Aik Hunar Aik Nagar in collaboration with SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Pakistan – China Friendship Centre from 22nd to 24th February 2013.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad arranged a stall and Sri Lankan traditional handicrafts, artifacts, tea were displayed at the exhibition.  The event was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Hon. Raja Pervez Ashraf and First Lady Nusrat Pervez and Sri Lanka stall was opened with  the  lighting of the traditional oil lamp.  Minister for Information and Broadcasting Hon. Qamar Zaman Kaira and Minister for Commerce Hon. Makhdoom Amin Faheen and Chairman of AHAN  Mrs. Samina Khawar Hayat  also participated in the event.

Large  number of people  participated during the three day exhibition and the Mission  distributed tourist promotional material to the  participants
