Ambassador Manisha Gunasekera paid a farewell call on the first Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun on Friday 12 October 2018 at the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On completion of tenure as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Korea, Ambassador Manisha Gunasekera paid farewell calls on high level dignitaries of the Korean Government prior to her departure from Seoul.
The Ambassador paid a farewell call on the first Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun at the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday 12 October 2018. During the meeting, Ambassador Gunasekera extended her deep appreciation to Vice Minister Cho for the excellent support extended by the Korean Foreign Ministry and Korean Government interlocutors in broadening and deepening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea in the past three years, and also conveyed her warm greetings to Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha through the Vice Minister. Vice Minister Cho acknowledged progress in bilateral relations and appreciated the efforts by the Ambassador in furthering bilateral cooperation, and extended his best wishes in her future endeavours.
Ambassador Gunasekera also paid farewell calls on the Chairman and President of the Korea Eximbank Dr. Eun Sung-soo (Tuesday 2 October 2018); the President & CEO of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Kwon Pyung-oh (Thursday 11 October 2018); the Chairman and President of the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) Shin Myung-jin (Thursday 4 October 2018), and appreciated the strong support extended by the respective institutions in the promotion of development cooperation, investment and trade between Korea and Sri Lanka. Ambassador Gunasekera also met with the Chief of National Security and Chairman of National Security Council Standing Committee of Korea Chung Eui-yong on Wednesday 10 October 2018.
