Sri Lanka Embassy in Jakarta Celebrates Christmas

 

Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta celebrated Christmas at the Embassy premises on 29 December 2023. A large number of Sri Lankans belonging to all faiths including the members of the Association of Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia (ASLI) attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Indonesia Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage emphasized the importance of maintaining religious harmony that is prevailing in the country.

The event was graced by the presence of Papal Nuncio to Indonesia His Eminence Cardinal Pioppo. The priest of the Santo Ignatious Loyola Church conducted the religious observances with a sermon followed by prayers. Christmas carols with melodious tunes of Christmas Hymns were performed by the 14-member talented choir of the Santo Loyola Church.   In the spirit of Christmas, Santa Claus entertained children and delighted them with gifts.

A delicious dinner with a Christmas cake was arranged by the Association of Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia (ASLI).
