Sri Lanka Embassy in Germany Commences Work for year 2024 with Launching of the New Online Appointment System of the Consular Section

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Germany commenced work on the first day of 2024 with the launch of the new online consular appointment system. The Embassy serves the Sri Lankan community spread across 16 federal states of Germany and attends to consular functions including renewal of passports, registration of birth, marriages and deaths, and attestation of documents.

The introduction of the new system is expected to streamline the consular services by allowing the applicants to choose convenient dates and reducing waiting time. The Mission also expects to serve a greater number of applicants by introducing  the new system.

Utilizing the new system, applicants can make appointments through the official website of the Embassy (https://www.srilanka-botschaft.de/) and a confirmation email will be sent to the applicant upon submitting the relevant documents. A new electronic queuing system was also introduced to the Consular Section of the Mission.

The commencement event also included the hoisting of the national flag by Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Germany Varuni Muthukumarana, singing of the national anthem, observing a two minute silence to commemorate the war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the motherland and taking the oath of public service.
