The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Norway celebrated Poson Full-Moon Poya Day with an almsgiving and a Dhamma sermon at the Embassy.
The event was started with the opening address by Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Norway Godfrey Cooray highlighting the importance of Poson giving prominence to the teachings of the Buddha. The Embassy staff offered Buddha Pooja on the Poson Day 24 June, 2021. Head Monk of Buddhist Vihara Rev. Marathugoda Manirathana Thero sermonized Damma Deshana outlining the significance of Poson and invoked blessings upon Sri Lanka for peace and good health particularly to those who are suffering due to COVID - 19 Pandemic.
Rev Unapana Pemananda Thero conducted meditation session to the participants. The event concluded with offering “Dahawal Dhana”.
