Engaging with seafood stakeholders at the Aquatic Products Exchange Meeting

On 25 May 2021, Consul General of Sri Lanka in Guangzhou Priyangika Dharmasena was invited to the Aquatic Products Exchange meeting organized by the Guangzhou Aquatic Production Chamber of Commerce. The Consul General from Thailand and representatives from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Ecuador and the Philippines participated in the meeting. The event coincided with the inauguration of a Chaoshan seafood restaurant.

During the event, Consul General Dharmasena, interacted with President of the Guangzhou Aquatic Chambers of Commerce Eric Zheng, on fisheries cooperation. The Chambers extended their cooperation to assist in finding buyers for Sri Lankan fishery products. The dinner meeting gave the opportunity to meet and interact with seafood, logistics and supply chain companies. Sri Lanka exports mainly crustaceans, including crabs, lobsters, crayfish, and shrimps, to China.
