The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta showcased signature Sri Lanka products at the 50th Anniversary of WIC Charity Bazaar 2017 held at the Jakarta Convention Centre, Indonesia on 15th and 16th November 2017.
Mrs Mufidah Kalla, spouse of the Vice President of Indonesia ceremonially inaugurated the Sri Lanka stall by symbolically lighting the traditional Sri Lankan oil lamp in the presence of Ambassador and staff, President of the WIC Mrs.Pooja Vijay Assomull and WIC committee members. Sri Lanka Embassy marked its third consecutive year at WIC Bazaar. Sri Lanka stall was partnered by the Embassy of Sri Lanka, Dilmah Tea distributor in Indonesia (Pt. David Roys) and the Sri Lankan community members of Indonesia. Variety of products were displayed and sold at Sri Lanka stall including Dilmah tea, Siddhalepa, Spa Ceylon – Luxury Ayurvedha products, Laksala products, Monara handcraft products and handloom sarees.
WIC charity Bazaar is an annually held fundraising event by the Women’s International Club of Indonesia to promote the cause of education and to contribute to social improvement. WIC celebrates its Golden jubilee this year. WIC 2017 comprised of fifty seven Embassy stalls and several other individual stalls.
