The Embassy of Sri Lanka to Norway commemorated Vesak festival at the Embassy and Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara on 27 May 2021 with the participation of Embassy staff and Thisarana Buddhist Association in accordance with the pandemic restrictions currently in place in Norway.
The Commemoration commenced with the opening remarks by Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Norway Godfrey Cooray emphasizing the importance of the day of Vesak for the Buddhists around the world.
Rev. Marathugoda Manirathana Thero, Head Monk of the Vihara conducted sermons with Unapana Pemananda Thero, outlining the core messages in Buddhism, the guiding principles to attain a life of contentment.
The Buddhist Temple, which was built very recently, and place was decorated with oil lambs.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Norway served Dhanya to the Monks at the Temple.
