SriLankan Airlines (UL) will be launching a brand new ‘A 330-300’ aircraft on October 31, sealing in the national carrier’s continuous quest of evolution in the aviation industry. Among a number of special incentives that has been introduced by SriLankan Airlines, the airline is also looking into turning Singapore as the gateway point for passengers flying to Australia.
Currently, tickets are already up for booking and daily flights will be code shared with Qantas Airlines, where passengers can connect from Singapore on board Qantas and fly to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. “Qantas and SriLankan Airlines, being members of oneworld alliance will help bring about leverage for both carriers through this type of collaboration where passengers will have the benefit of experiencing affordable fares and convenient connections,” SriLankan Airlines,(Sales/Agency/Passenger) Manager Fawzan Fareid said.
“We are in the process of engaging travel agents who make up close to 75% of this entity in the business. The advantage in our approach this time around is that SriLankans will receive a number of benefits through bundle packages. We have aimed our current bundle offers to the discerning traveller who understands the true meaning of what traveling means,” SriLankan Airlines, Regional Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives, Saminda Perera said.
