The main focus of the event was to raise awareness among leading travel agents and tour operators of Indonesia on places of interest in Sri Lanka. During the discussion, the Ambassador covered famous tourists and religious destinations. During the event, a representative of Mihin Lanka also encouraged the gathering by promoting the utilization of multiple packages on offer to tourists by the airline to destinations in Sri Lanka and beyond. A considerable number of new agents and operators also attended and shared their ideas and views. The event is one of a series of promotional events the Embassy has arranged in collaboration with Mihin Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.

It is noted that Mihin Lanka having commenced its operations with only 2 frequencies per week in 2010, now operates 6 frequencies to Jakarta and will be increased to 7 frequencies with effect from 1st May 2013. Apart from this, two additional frequencies to Medan, the Capital City of North Sumatra Province is also being explored at present.
