With a view to enhancing Sri Lanka- Lebanon bilateral trade relations, The Embassy of Sri Lanka in collaboration with Sanjeewaka Ayurvedic Products (Pvt.) Ltd launched Chandanalepa range in Lebanon at Rafik Hariri Hall of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon (CCIABML) on 19 December 2020.
Despite the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic, keeping aligned with the economic diplomacy initiatives of the Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka, the Embassy, under the guidance of Ambassador Shani Calyaneratne Karunaratne has witnessed its fruitful effort, commencing the import of Chandanalepa Ayurvedic beauty products to Lebanon with the appointed sole agent of Chandanalepa, Mrs. Silva Normanian and Mrs. T. Malkanthi Silva of Lebanon.
Many eminent personalities including Princess Hayat Arslan of Lebanon, distinguished invitees and diplomats graced the launch. A video was shown on the evolution of Sanjeewaka Ayurvedic Products (Pvt.) Ltd.
Ambassador Karunaratne in her speech, elaborated the vitality of natural beauty products specifically to the beauty-conscious Lebanese market. She emphasized on a wide variety of products manufactured in Sri Lanka that promotes good health.
Chief Executive Officer of Sanjeewaka Ayurvedic Products (Pvt.) Ltd. Dr. Phillip Nehri Mullegama,in his recorded speech, spoke highly of Chairman Ranjith Premathilake’s untiring efforts and highlighted the unique quality of the Chandanalepa products and their willingness to cooperate with the Embassy and Lebanese businesses to penetrate the personal care market in Lebanon. A prominent member of the society and authority of beauty culture standards Johanna Ghali expressed her thoughts on Sri Lankan Ayurvedic products and their virtue.
Ambassador Karunaratne officially handed over the first consignment of products to Mrs. Silva Normanian and Mrs. T. Malkanthi Silva followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. The launching ceremony was shared live on the Embassy Facebook page.
First Secretary/HOC Chathuri Perera, Second Secretary T. Luxmidharan and all staff of the Embassy participated in the event.
