The staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing, pledging their commitment to implement public policies and goals, took oath of allegiance to public service at a ceremony to commence the work for the new year, held at the Embassy premises on 01 January 2019.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to People’s Republic of China followed by singing of the National Anthem.
While wishing all staff a happy and prosperous new year, the Ambassador urged their utmost dedication to fulfill the country’s aspirations and to enhance and corroborate the longstanding relations between Sri Lanka and China in the political, economic, tourism, cultural, and education spheres in the New Year.
The ceremony concluded with offering Sri Lankan traditional refreshments Kiribath, Kewum and Kokis etc. prepared by the Home-based staff of the Embassy to participants.
