The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Seoul successfully participated at the Global Village Festival organized by the Itaewon District Office from 12th -14th October 2012.
Global Village Festival, an annual event which began in 2008 aims to promote the rich multicultural diversity and harmony which exists in the Republic of Korea. More than 600,000 visitors participated during the 3 day event.

The Embassy successfully arranged three stalls for food and handicraft items at the festival. A demonstration on making Hoppers, which was held for the first time in Seoul gave an opportunity for the visitors to taste the popular Sri Lankan delicacy.
The festival created a platform for a large number of Korean school children, youth, adults as well as expatriates living in Seoul to widen their knowledge about Sri Lanka and its rich culture.
The participation of the Sri Lanka Student Association at the Global Cultural Parade in Sri Lankan traditional costumes on the invitation of the Embassy added colour to the event.
