The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai organized Vesak celebrations at the “Maha Mahinda Buddha Vihar” in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra.
The Consul General, Dr Valsan Vethody, along with five Sri Lankan Navy trainees from INS Ashvini, Mumbai, members of Sri Lankan Airlines and the staff of the Mission participated in the function. Approximately 250 devotees attended the temple, for whom an almsgiving was organised by the Mission in collaboration with the Maha Mahinda Buddha Vihar.
The congregation was addressed by the Consul General. During his address, the Consul General spoke about the significance of Vesak and how auspiciously Vesak is celebrated in Sri Lanka.
