The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar Prabashini Ponnamperuma met with the President of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) U Aye Win, on 06 September 2024, at the UMFCCI Headquarters in Yangon.
The discussion was centered on the initiatives to be taken towards improving and furthering trade and economic relations between the two countries. Further, strategies for optimizing the existing longstanding and historical bilateral relations based on cultural and religious connectivity, in order to gain economic benefits for both countries, were discussed.
The Advisor of the UMFCCI, Ambassador Tint Swai, and Secretary General of the UMFCCI Daw Khine Khine Nwe also took part in the discussion.
The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) is a non-governmental organization that plays an important role in promoting economic development, representing the interests of the private sector, driving both domestic and international trade in Myanmar.
