The State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene meeting with the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Korea Song Young-moo in Seoul on 17 October 2017
The State Minister of Defence of Sri Lanka Ruwan Wijewardene visited the Republic of Korea from 16 to 18 October 2017 on the invitation of the Korean Minister of National Defence to participate in the Seoul International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition 2017 (Seoul ADEX 2017).
During the visit, Minister Wijewardene met with his counterpart, the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Korea Song Young-moo on Tuesday 17 October 2017, and discussed issues of mutual interest related to cooperation in the field of defence. The Ministers also welcomed the consolidation of bilateral relations in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea in 2017.
State Minister Wijewardene was accompanied on the visit by Air Vice Marshal M.D.A.P. Payoe and staff of the Ministry of Defence. Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Manisha Gunasekera and staff of the Embassy were associated with the visit.
