The Sri Lanka Consulate in Karachi and the Sri Lanka Community in Sindh & Balochistan provinces in Pakistan celebrated the Sinhala & Tamil New Year at the IQRA University premises in Karachi on Saturday 02 April 2022, with the participation of the Sri Lankan community and Pakistan nationals.
The New Year event included playing of traditional Avurudu games, serving Sri Lankan cuisine followed by distributing gifts to the winners of Aurudu games.
Addressing the gathering Consul General Jagath Abeywarna expressed his gratitude to the participants for gathering in large numbers to celebrate the Sri Lanka New Year festival in Karachi.
