“Sri Lankan Food Festival” at The Grand New Delhi

The High Commission of Sri Lanka and The Grand Hotel in New Delhi organized a “Sri Lankan Food Festival” with a view to popularizing authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and to showcase great culinary variety that Sri Lanka can offer to the Indian public.                                      

Two Sri Lankan Chefs were especially flown from Sri Lanka for this Food Festival which is being held from 23rd May to 2nd June 2013 at the Cascades Restaurant, at The Grand New Delhi.

High Commissioner Prasad Kariyawasam inaugurated “Sri Lankan Food Festival” on 23rd May 2013. The High Commissioner and esteemed guests present at the occasion floated candle-lit floral arrangements in a symbolic gesture at the water body in the hotel garden area in celebration of the occasion. The restaurant decorated with Sri Lankan traditional items and Sri Lankan music in the background, and serving staff attired in Sri Lankan batiks provided an excellent Sri Lankan ambience at the venue.
