Deepavali Festival was celebrated in Jakarta by the Sri Lankan Community in Indonesia on Saturday, 21 October 2017 at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta with Hindu religious observances. Hindu devotional songs, dances, decor and Sri Lankan Tamil ethnic food were featured during the event.
The celebrations were organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in partnership with the Sri Lankan Hindu Community in Indonesia with the participation of members of the Sri Lankan Community of all denominations.
