Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) together with the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai organized a series of Sri Lanka tourism roadshows in Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune on 25, 27 and 29 September 2023 respectively.
Sri Lanka Tourism showcased its top tourism attractions during the event. 36 Sri Lankan Travel and Tourism companies and approximately 200 Indian Tour Operators, including travel agents, MICE representatives, and corporate entities attended the roadshow and the Sri Lankan delegation engaged in discussions with key players in the travel and tourism industry to explore travel opportunities for Indian tourists.
The event featured speakers including Consul General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai, Dr Valsan Vethody; Nalin Perera, Board Member of SLTPB and the Director General of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority; Thisum Jayasuriya, Chairman of Sri Lanka Convention Bureau; V. Ravindran, Regional Manager of Sri Lankan Airlines for India, Bangladesh and Nepal; Sunil Uttam, Chairman of Travel Agents Federation of India, Pune Chapter and Mehboob Shaikh, Chairman of Travel Agents Association of India, Pune Chapter.
In his opening remarks Consul General Vethody gave assurances to the audience, Sri Lanka is not only one of the most beautiful countries with an amazing range of destinations and products, but is also safe and secure country. The Roadshow also organised a raffle draw and a Sri Lankan dancing troupe showcased the rich heritage of performing arts.
