SRI LANKA TOURISM DIGITAL BILLBOARD ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN IN AUSTRALIA

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, with the assistance of Sri Lanka Missions in Australia, has undertaken a Digital Billboard Advertisement Campaign in Sydney and Melbourne.

The Billboard advertisement campaign, starting from mid March 2019, will run for three months in Sydney and Melbourne; six locations in each city.

Sri Lanka has become one of the most preferred destinations among Australian travellers in the recent years.  Tourist arrivals from Australia increased to 110,928 in 2018, registering 37% increase over the previous year.  Australia became the 6th source market for Sri Lanka in 2018.

Sri Lanka is Australia’s closest true safari destination, of which Australians are starting to take notice. Wildlife parks such as Yala National Park give Australian travellers a real wildlife experience at a fraction of the cost of heading to Africa. In addition, Sri Lanka’s stunning scenery and the beautiful train journey between Kandy and Ella is becoming popular among Australian holiday makers.

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has also planned a number of promotional activities with the assistance of Sri Lankan Missions in Australia to increase tourism arrivals to Sri Lanka.  Promotional activities planned for this year include FAM Tour for Australian Outbound Tour Operates in July, Sri Lanka Tourism Festival in Sydney and Melbourne in November/December 2019 and the Sri Lanka Travel Trade Roadshow in Australia.
