The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Vienna with the support of Sri Lankan Companies and restaurants based in Austria participated at the United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) International-Festival Bazaar held at the Austria Centre on 23 November 2019.
UNWG Bazaar is one of the biggest fundraisers where the international community comes together to showcase goods, culture and national foods of each nation. 80 nations took part at this year's bazaar which attracted over 20,000 visitors. The purpose of the Bazaar is to raise funds for children's charities selected by the UN Women's Guild.
A traditional Sri Lankan dance was performed at the opening ceremony which attracted a large number of spectators.
Visitors to the Bazaar enjoyed Sri Lankan street food and other culinary delights which included Kottu Roti. Ceylon Tea, Ayurvedic products and eco friendly jewellery. This helped promote Sri Lankan cuisine and goods in the Austrian market.
