Sri Lanka promoted in the Philippines at APCP 2024

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Philippines with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) arranged a special tourism and tea promotion event on the sidelines of the 18th Asia Pacific Congress of Pediatrics (APCP) 2024. The event was held at Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Cebu City, Philippines, from 14 to 17 November 2024.

The main objective of the promotional event was to highlight the Chairmanship of the 19th APCP which is scheduled to be held in Colombo in July 2026, as well as to raise awareness among the participants and garner support for the next conference.

APCP 2024 is presented by the Asia Pacific Pediatric Association (APPA) and organized by the Philippine Pediatric Society.

Approximately 2000 foreign and local delegates from the region attended the conference and the Sri Lanka Pavilion was well received by the delegates/visitors.

During the event, leaflets of the 19th APCP 2026 and tourism-promoting brochures were handed out to the delegates/visitors. In addition, an informative documentary on the epic of the Ramayana Trail, emphasizing the historical places connected to the story was screened.  Moreover, videos highlighting the country’s key attractions including scenic landscapes, culturally rich landmarks, vibrant culture and its renowned tea industry that make Sri Lanka a must-visit tourism destination were played continuously throughout the conference. The premium Ceylon tea brands, Dilmah Tea and George Steuarts Tea were promoted at the event and freshly brewed tea was served to the visitors of the stall.
