The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Muscat participates in the month - long extravaganza Muscat Night Festival that started on 23 December 2024 and will end on 21 January 2025.
Muscat Nights is a celebration of various cultures and heritages along with fun-filled and lively experiences. It is one of the premier cultural and entertainment events in Oman, organized by the Muscat Municipality, attracting thousands of visitors annually to the Al Qurum National Park, a favorite among festivalgoers. The first edition of the Muscat Flower Festival began at major venues in an around the Muscat City.
More than 700 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs and families participate in the festival, presenting their products and services. The Global Village at the Al Qurum National Park includes an international fair with the cooperation of the respective Embassies based in the Sultanate. Products and services, cultural heritage and traditional cuisines of different countries are presented at the Global village.
The Sri Lankan pavilion at the Global Village has been organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka together with the Sri Lanka Business Council Initiative in Oman, offering an opportunity to promote Sri Lankan tourism, authentic Sri Lankan products and including Sri Lankan tea, spices, coconut products, handicrafts, batiks, sweetmeats, and traditional foods and also services, within the allocated nine stalls. Sri Lankan Embassy will play a pivotal role in promoting tourism and overseeing the promotion of all other sectors.
A number of Sri Lankan companies and entrepreneurs in Oman have contributed for these stalls: Zeed International (Pvt) Ltd, Quality Foodstuff Pvt Ltd, LLK GREEN, SAK fashion, Nimasha fashions, NV Sweets Bakers, Krishanthi cake items, Thiloma traditional sweets, Raleena homemade bake items and Seylanya Holdings. Sri Lankan investments opportunities are also promoted via four Sri Lankan Banks established in Oman- Bank of Ceylon, Peoples’ Bank, Sampath Bank and Commercial Bank.
Furthermore, there are cultural events to be staged during the upcoming days in the festival.
Muscat’s Nights Festival 2024 is an unforgettable experience, highlighting the best of Oman’s heritage, adventure and hospitality while also offering an opportunity for other cultures to collaborate in a common international platform.
Sri Lanka’s participation in the Muscat Nights underscores the country’s commitment to positioning itself as a premier travel destination amidst a renewed tourism strategy as well as opportunities for trade and service sectors to expand horizons in new frontiers in the Middle East Region.
