The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Pretoria, South Africa in collaboration with the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Basilar Tea South Africa, and TnS Foods facilitated the showcase of Ceylon Tea and Sri Lankan Cuisines at the first edition of the “Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry SME Showcase Exhibition”, held at the JCC House in Johannesburg, South Africa on 8 December 2023.
The key objectives of participating in this event were to promote and raise awareness about Sri Lanka and its Ceylon Tea and cuisines among South Africans and to network the South African SME sector with Sri Lankan companies.
At the opening ceremony, Trade Secretary of the High Commission spoke highlighting the trade and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka to the distinguished audience representing the SME sector, members of the Chambers in Johannesburg and the banking sector.
More than 90 exhibitors from different sectors participated in this event by showcasing their products and around 300 visitors attended the exhibition. All of the visitors were able to taste the delicious Sri Lankan foods and freshly brewed Ceylon tea.
