The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta, with the support of the Sri Lankan community in Indonesia fielded a team to participate in the Football Peace tournament 2019 on 21 September 2019 at the GOR Stadium, North Jakarta.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia organized this tournament in cooperation with the Unipapua Football Community with the objective to promote and spread peace and social change, as well as instill human values and unity in society through football. This event was organized for the first time in 2017 and it is planned to hold similar events every September 21st to commemorate the International Day of Peace.
The Embassy staff and the Sri Lankan Community in Indonesia supported the Sri Lankan team.
