Commemorating International Migrants Day, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jordan participated at a programme organized by the International Organization for Migrants (IOM) at the Columbia Global Centre in Amman on 17 December 2019.
Whilst depicting the culture and heritage of Sri Lanka at the event where Sri Lankan arts and crafts, handloom and batik textiles and ceramic items were on display, a separate presentation in the Arabic language was carried out to showcase the diversity of Sri Lanka. Sri Lankans currently comprise the third largest migrant workforce in Jordan.
Sri Lankan refreshments and Ceylon tea were served to all the visitors.
