Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to South Africa Kumar Mallimaratchi and the staff of the Sri Lanka High Commission in Pretoria, ceremonially commenced work for the New Year on 02 January 2019.
High Commissioner Mallimaratchi commenced the ceremony by hoisting the National Flag of Sri Lanka at the Chancery Building. All members of the staff sang the National Anthem of Sri Lanka and observed a two-minutes silence to pay respect and in remembrance of National heroes. The Oath for the Public Servants was taken by the staff of the High Commission.
Delivering his remarks, High Commissioner Mallimaratchi extended his warm greetings for the New Year to the gathering and requested them to work as a team to meet the targets of the Mission, in an efficient manner.
