Sri Lanka High Commission in Kuala Lumpur Officially Commences Work for the Year 2024

The staff of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia officially commenced work for the year 2024 with a brief programme on 01 January 2024 at the High Commission premises.

The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to Malaysia Air Chief Marshal (Retd.) Sumangala Dias followed by the singing of the National Anthem.  Afterwards, a two minute silence was observed to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the motherland. The priests of all four religions invoked blessings on the staff of the Embassy and Sri Lankans for the new year.

The staff of the High Commission took the “Oath of Public Servants” pledging to provide an efficient and effective service to the public with firm determination and utmost dedication.

The High Commissioner extended best wishes for the new year and highlighted the importance of the public officials discharging their duties with efficiency and effectiveness. The High Commissioner also requested all staff members to look into the possible areas where they can improve the services specially towards the Sri Lankan community in Malaysia.

The programme concluded with partaking of milk rice, sweetmeats and tea.
