The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tehran participated in the Iran Charity Bazaar held in Tehran from 01-03 November 2023. The Charity Bazaar was organized by the Association of Women Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in coordination with the Iran based Diplomatic Missions and other organizations to raise funds for helping the underprivileged people.
Welcoming the Chair of the Association of Women Diplomats and the spouse of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Amir Abdollahian to the Sri Lanka booth, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Iran G.M.V. Wishwanath Aponsu appreciated her leadership in organizing the bazaar with the participation of more than 150 entities. Chairperson Abdollahian thanked the Ambassador Aponsu for the active participation of the embassy at the charity market with the donation of six cartons containing Ceylon tea and other Sri Lanka’s products.
The charity market featured more than 145 stalls, that showcased a wide array of products. The Sri Lanka stall displayed and promoted Ceylon tea from the seven regions provided by the Sri Lanka Tea Board and several tea importing companies in Iran, and other export products from the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka.
Visitors to the Sri Lanka stall were served a cup of Ceylon tea throughout the event.
