Sri Lanka Embassy in Kuwait celebrates Vesak

Vesak Festival was celebrated in a grand scale amidst a large gathering of Sri Lankans and well wishers living in Kuwait from 23rd to 25th May 2013 at the Embassy Premises. This was organized by the Embassy with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Cultural Association as well as other associations in Kuwait.

The programme comprised Observing Eight Precepts, Dharma discussion, Meditation programme, offering of Alms and Buddha Puja. The Embassy compound was decorated with Buddhist flags, Vesak lanterns and a colourful pandol. Children of Sri Lankan School participated in Vesak Bhakti Gee. Buddhist Monk, Rev. Massanne Vijitha Thero performed religious ceremonies and Mavupiya Vandanawa. The programme was very well received by the thousands of participants at the ceremony.

The event concluded with refreshments being served to all and they participated at Dansala organized by the Sri Lanka Cultural Association and Sri Lankan Community in Kuwait.
