In keeping with the vision of engaging with the community, Sri Lanka Embassy in Japan concluded a Mobile Consular Service in Kyoto located approx. 600 km away from Tokyo on Saturday, 28 August 2021.
The mobile service helped over 200 Sri Lankan expatriates with driving license, passport renewals, birth registrations, affidavits, power of attorney attestations and certification of true copies etc.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Japan Sanjiv Gunasekara spent two days in the Kansai area and met the Head Priests and the Administration Staff of five temples (including 3 heritage sites) that have a longstanding friendly relationship with Sri Lanka. Ambassador Gunasekara also met Kyoto area Assemblymen, Non-Profit Organizations, prospective Japanese Investors and discussed investment opportunities as well as how to improve friendly relations between Sri Lanka and Japan.
Kansai Japan Sri Lanka National Organization hosted this mobile service. Ambassador Gunasekara spoke to over 200 Sri Lankan expatriates who mostly were automotive related businessmen and requested them to explore possibilities of importing Sri Lankan products and services such as automotive related rubber items, IT etc.
Ambassador Gunasekara spoke of the upcoming events and Webinar on Japan’s Skilled Worker Programme that will help students and community. Ambassador Gunasekara also requested the Sri Lankan community to visit the newly reconstructed Mission Website as well as follow the official Facebook page to be informed of all activities of the Mission as well as the Government.
