Sri Lanka Embassy in Israel conducts Mobile Service for Sri Lankan Migrant Workers

In commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Israel conducted a one-day mobile service at St. Joseph’s Church in Haifa on 18.02.2018 for the benefit of Sri Lankan migrant workers living and employed in Haifa.

Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Israel Periyasamy Pillai Selvaraj led the Embassy mobile consular team, which comprised of Mr. K.L.H.K.Wijeratne, First Secretary ( E & W) , Mr. K.G. Hemachandra, Second Secretary (E&W) and Mr. H.P.D.P. Nawarathe, Attaché of the Mission. At the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Selvaraj welcomed the Sri Lankan community who participated in the consular outreach mission and said that the Embassy had organized a mobile service in order to reach the Sri Lankan citizens living in Haifa. He further said that such services offered an opportunity for the Sri Lankan workers to meet the Embassy officials to resolve their problems. He appreciated the invaluable assistance rendered by the Sri Lankan community and the Chief Priest of the St. Joseph’s Church for providing the venue to successfully conclude the event.

The Embassy is of the opinion that such services and the interactions with the Sri Lankan community will forge a good relationship and friendship between the Embassy and the Sri Lankan community in Israel.
