 Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai hosts ‘Iftar’

The Deputy High Commission of Sri Lanka in Chennai organized an ‘Iftar’ function on 21 April 2023 at the Chancery premises.

The event commenced with the breaking fast followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and a sermon by Moulana K. M. Ilyas Riyaji, Chief Imam of Eidgha Masjid, Mandaveli, Chennai.

Minister for Minorities Welfare , Non-Resident Tamil Welfare, Refugees & Evacuees and Wakf Board of the State Government of Tamil Nadu  Gingee K. S. Masthan participated as the Chief Guest at the event. Many other distinguished guests and well-wishers of Sri Lanka as well as the staff of the Mission also attended the ‘Iftar’

Deputy High Commissioner Dr. D. Venkateshwaran while thanking the guests highlighted the importance of respecting the values of all religions and ethnicities.

The guests were served with  traditional refreshments to break the fast.
