The Sri Lanka Consulate in Mumbai celebrated Diwali (Deepavali), the festival of lights on 05 November 2018 at the Consulate premises.
Diwali is one of the grandest festivals celebrated in Hinduism to mark new beginnings and spiritual victory of light over darkness.
The Consulate was decorated with colourful rangoli art work, diyas (lamps) and bright marigold toran (decorative garland). Lakshmi Pooja was performed by a Hindu priest for Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity.
The event was followed by a traditional Maharashtrian Diwali feast.
