The High Commission of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of External Affairs and Export Development Board participated at the MAHA International 2012, a nine day biennial agricultural exhibition held from 24th November to 2nd December 2012 in Serdang, Malaysia. The exhibition was organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and Agro based Industry and FAMA Consortium Sdn. Bhd. The MAHA Agricultural fair is considered as one of the biggest agro based trade fairs in the ASEAN region.

The exhibition was organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and Agro based Industry and FAMA Consortium Sdn. Bhd. The MAHA Agricultural fair is considered as one of the biggest agro based trade fairs in the ASEAN region.
The exhibition and trade fair was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Razak. Over 1000 exhibitors from Malaysia and representatives from 30 countries participated at the event. Approximately 4 million visitors had visited the nine day fair.
Sri Lankan was represented by International Food Stuff Company Ltd, Ceygold Pvt. Ltd , Nelna Agri Development Pvt. Ltd. and Aliya Restaurant based in Kuala Lumpur.
During the event a Chef from Aliya Restaurant demonstrated hopper making and Ceygold Pvt. Ltd had served Ceylon Tea to the visitors.
Commenting on Sri Lanka’s participation, Acting High Commissioner Major General S.W.L. Daulagala stated that the Fair had provided an opportunity for Sri Lankan agro based exporters to explore market opportunities in Malaysia and meet buyers from other countries.
