Sri Lanka and Brunei Darussalam to further Elevate Relations

Hon. Vasantha Senanayake, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka met H.E. Pehin Dato Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, on 06th August 2017 on the sidelines of the grand celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the ASEAN in Manila. The two Ministers discussed ways and means to further invigorate the bilateral relations between the two countries including intensifying cooperation in the spheres of economic, trade and tourism, education and student exchange at graduate and post graduate levels and to enhance employment opportunities for Sri Lankans as well as intensifying interactions between the private sectors to expand business opportunities. Sri Lanka's desire to enhance cooperation with the ASEAN including as a future Sectoral Dialogue Partner was also conveyed.

Associated with State Minister Senanayake at the discussions were Hon. Buddhika Pathirana MP, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to the Philippines Mrs. Aruni Ranaraja, Director General of East Asia and the Pacific Mr. O.L. Ameerajwad and Mrs. Sewwandi de Silva, Second Secretary, Embassy of Sri Lanka, Manila.
