The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar Janaka Bandara visited Cyclone Mocha hit Rakhine State of Myanmar on 01 – 02 September 2023, as a member of a special diplomatic delegation led by the Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing.
During the visit, the delegation was able to witness the progress of ongoing rehabilitation and rebuilding programmes in Rakhine State. They visited religious places, hospitals, schools, universities and villages in the affected areas.
Further the delegation met with the displaced persons who are still at IDP camps, and observed the health care services and other facilities provided to them by the Myanmar government.
The observation tour was organized by the Foreign Ministry of Myanmar.
