The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur set up a pavilion at the “Wisma Putra Day 2023” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia on Saturday, 4 November 2023 to promote Sri Lanka tourism and culture.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Zambry bin Abdul Kadir and High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Malaysia Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Sumangala Dias declared open the Sri Lankan Pavilion. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary General of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry also visited the Sri Lankan pavilion.
Over 20 countries and Malaysian line ministries participated in the event. The Sri Lanka pavillion showcased SO-SRILANKA - diverse tourism ambience, exquisite Sri Lankan culture, Sri Lankan batiks, Sri Lankan Traditional Wooden masks and Sri Lankan products. Over 6000 Malaysians including Ministers, government officials, Malaysian citizens and diplomatic corps visited the Sri Lankan pavilion. All visitors to the Sri Lanka pavilion were served with Sri Lanka cashew.
