As a part of the Public Diplomacy Community welfare program Poson Poya was celebrated on Sunday of 27 June, 2021, with the participation of Sri Lankans, Lebanese and Syrians. Rev. Marathugoda Uparathna Thero of Copenhagen Buddhist temple in Denmark arranged the program through Zoom technology.
Observing eight precepts was directed by Rajakeeya Panditha Rev. Koonwewa Srisumana thero, Chief incumbent of Alawwa Sri Sonuththara Pirivena, and Rev. Deliwala Buddharakkitha thero of Sri Shalyarama Viharaya, Hiriwadunna, Kegalle.
The highlight of the program was the Dhamma discussion in English by President of Geneva International Buddhist Foundation Venerable Pasyale Wimalarathna Thero. This was attended by the Lebanese Muslims and Catholics.
Amisa pooja, Gilanpasa and mid-day meal was provided by Rathnadeepa International Migration Board.
As a part of the Poson Dana Paramitha, Nebulizers, Infrared forehead Thermometers, Sanitizer Nano Spray Guns, metal furniture, Mattresses etc, were donated to the newly established 300 bed Intermediate COVID -19 treatment center Dompe Sri Lanka.
