Pirith Chanting Ceremony to invoke blessings on the King of Thailand

The Sri Lanka Embassy in Bangkok organized a pirith chanting ceremony to bless His Majesty the King of Thailand on his 87th birthday, the Royal family and the President of Sri Lanka on 5th December 2014 at the Embassy premises with the participation of 16 renowned Buddhist monks who arrived from Sri Lanka.

Mr. Chandraprema Gamage, Commissioner-General of the Department of Buddhist Affairs arranged the visit of the 16 Buddhist monks representing 15 districts of Sri Lanka at this important occasion.

The Ministry of Culture and the Arts of Sri Lanka facilitated the participation of 03 drummers and other artistes at the ceremony.

This event was attended by officials of the Thai Foreign Ministry, Sri Lankan and Thai well-wishers with much enthusiasm, since this was the first occasion a Pirith chanting ceremony was organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bangkok at the Embassy premises.
