The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes with deep sadness the demise of Mr. Kalyananda (Nanda) Godage, former Ambassador and member of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service (SLFS).
Having joined the SLFS in 1971, Mr. Godage served as Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the European Union, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Malaysia, Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in New Delhi, and on diplomatic postings in Tokyo, Manila and Washington.
In addition to his work in the SLFS, Mr. Godage also served, among others, as Director of the Secretariat for Coordinating the Peace Process in 2002-2003 and as Secretary General of the Board of Investment from 1979-1981.
Mr. Godage was also a writer on diplomacy and international relations.

තානාපති කල්‍යානන්ද ගොඩගේ මහතා අභාවප්‍රාප්ත වෙයි
හිටපු තානාපති සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකා විදේශ සේවයේ සාමාජික කල්‍යානන්ද (නන්ද) ගොඩගේ මහතාගේ අභාවය පිළිබඳව විදේශ කටයුතු අමාත්‍යාංශය විසින් සිය බලවත් ශෝකය ප්‍රකාශ කරනු ලබයි.
1971 දී ශ්‍රී ලංකා විදේශ සේවයට බැඳුණු ගොඩගේ මහතා විසින් යුරෝපා සංගමයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති, මැලේසියාවේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහ කොමසාරිස්, නවදිල්ලියේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා නියෝජ්‍ය මහ කොමසාරිස් යන තනතුරු හොබවන ලද අතර ටෝකියෝ, මැනිලා සහ වොෂින්ටන්හි පිහිටි ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති කාර්යාලවලද සේවය සේවය කරන ලදී.
ගොඩගේ මහතා ශ්‍රී ලංකා විදේශ සේවයට අමතරව, සාම ක්‍රියාවලිය සම්බන්ධීකරණ ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ලෙස 2002-2003 දක්වාද, ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලයේ මහලේකම් ලෙස 1979-1981 දක්වාද සේවය කළේය.
ගොඩගේ මහතා රාජ්‍යතාන්ත්‍රික කටයුතු සහ ජාත්‍යන්තර සබඳතා පිළිබඳ ලේඛකයෙක්ද විය.
