Due to situation of wide strikes / Bandh in Nepal there have been some disruptions to transport and other services in a number of areas. All previously stranded Sri Lankan nationals in Lumbini, due to road closures, have been repatriated back.
The Sri Lanka Embassy in Nepal advises any Sri Lankan nationals seeking to visit Lumbini to contact officials of the Embassy in Kathmandu (Telephone: 00977 1 4720213), before undertaking travel, so they may advise on the local situation to assist in formulating a plan for nationals that wish to undertake travel to pilgrimage sites.
