Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Labor Minister of Kingdom of Bahrain received Sri Lankan Ambassador to Bahrain Mrs. Reethisri Wijeratne Mendis on 9 May 2023.
The Minister praised the Bahraini- Sri Lankan ties and highlighted Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to develop the labor market according to International Labor Organization (ILO) standards.
Ambassador, lauded the kingdom’s efforts to safeguard the rights of the Sri Lankan workforce, especially the compassionate and holistic approach adopted by the Government of Bahrain ensuring the safety of Sri Lankan citizens and migrant workers during Covid 19 Pandemic.
Ambassador reiterated her commitment for further strengthening ties in human resource development and labour sector for the mutual benefit of both countries during her tenure in Bahrain.
The meeting was concluded by both parties agreeing to review labor sector, exchange of expertise in human resources development and to enhance social protection for workers.
