State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Tharaka Balasuriya and Vice Minister of Trade of Indonesia, Jerry Sambuaga formally launched the negotiations for the Sri Lanka-Indonesia Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) in a virtual meeting today, 14 March 2024.
The Ministers conveyed that the commencement of the Sri Lanka-Indonesia PTA negotiations would serve as a step towards a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).They agreed that both countries are keen to strengthen bilateral trade relations and achieve meaningful market access under the proposed PTA.
The Ministers expressed the hope that the PTA negotiations will be conducted expeditiously and agreed that the first round of negotiations will commence at the earliest mutually agreed date.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා-ඉන්දුනීසියා වරණීය වෙළෙඳ ගිවිසුම සඳහා සාකච්ඡා ආරම්භ කිරීම පිළිබඳ ඒකාබද්ධ මාධ්‍ය නිවේදනය
ශ්‍රී ලංකා-ඉන්දුනීසියා වරණීය වෙළෙඳ ගිවිසුම පිළිබඳ සාකච්ඡා ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ විදේශ කටයුතු රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය තාරක බාලසූරිය සහ ඉන්දුනීසියාවේ වෙළෙඳ කටයුතු පිළිබඳ උප අමාත්‍ය ජෙරී සම්බුආගා යන මහත්වරුන් විසින් අද දින (2024 මාර්තු 14) මාර්ගගත රැස්වීමකදී නිල වශයෙන් දියත් කරන ලදී.
ශ්‍රී ලංකා-ඉන්දුනීසියා වරණීය වෙළෙඳ ගිවිසුමේ සාකච්ඡාවල ආරම්භය නිදහස් වෙළෙඳ ගිවිසුමක් සඳහා ඉදිරි පියවරක් ලෙස ක්‍රියාකරනු ඇතැයි අමාත්‍යවරු සඳහන් කළහ. යෝජිත වරණීය වෙළෙඳ ගිවිසුම යටතේ ද්විපාර්ශ්වික වෙළෙඳ සබඳතා ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට සහ අර්ථවත් වෙළෙඳපල ප්‍රවේශය ලබා ගැනීමට දෙරටම උනන්දුවෙන් පසුවෙතැයි ඔවුහු ප්‍රකාශ කළහ.
වරණීය වෙළෙඳ ගිවිසුම පිළිබඳ සාකච්ඡා කඩිනමින් පැවැත්වීමට හැකිවනු ඇති බවට විශ්වාසය පළ කළ අමාත්‍යවරු එහි පළමුවැනි සාකච්ඡා වටය අන්‍යෝන්‍ය වශයෙන් එකඟවූ දිනකදී කඩිනමින් ආරම්භ කරන බවට එකඟ වූහ.
2024 මාර්තු 14 වැනි දින, කොළඹදී සහ ජකර්තා නුවරදී නිකුත් කරන ලදී.
