On the official visit to Durban, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to South Africa Sirisena Amarasekara met the Sri Lankan Business community and the professionals living in Durban city of South Africa. The meeting was convened by the former Sri Lanka Honorary Consul for Durban Lal Jayamaha, and the Managing Director of Serendipity Tours.
Durban is located on the east coast of South Africa and has a natural harbor facing the Indian Ocean. Durban is one of the busiest cities on the African Continent. Sri Lankans who moved to Durban for business and employment opportunities settled in the city.
While appreciating the Sri Lankan community in Durban for promoting our trade and culture in collaboration with the native Africans and Indo- Africans in South Africa, High Commissioner Amarasekara requested them to provide their fullest support to further strengthen the socio-economic and cultural relations between Sri Lanka and Africa.
The High Commissioner Amarasekara further requested the Sri Lankan Community to create connectivity among them to become a strong community and maintain constant contacts with the High Commission.
