High Commissioner of India in Pretoria, H.E. Jaideep Sarkar paid a Courtesy call on his Sri Lankan counterpart, H.E. Kumar Mallimaratchi in Pretoria, South Africa on 03 June 2019. High Commissioner Sarkar has served as a private secretary to the former Prime Minister of India, Hon. Mr. Manamohan Singh before becoming Ambassador of India to Israel and Bhutan. The High Commissioners had a lengthy discussion on bilateral affairs of India and Sri Lanka and on the recent terrorist attack in Sri Lanka. High Commissioner Sarkar assured that India would assist Sri Lanka in overcoming the global terrorist threat, which also affects India and the entire region.
