Sri Lanka High Commissioner of South Africa, accredited to the Republic of Mozambique presented Letters of Credence to the President of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi on 28 August 2019 in Maputo, Mozambique.
The President warmly welcomed the High Commissioner Mallimatachi and wished success in his assignment. The High Commissioner Mallimaratchi extended warm greetings from President Maithripala Sirisena, to the President of Mozambique.
The bilateral meeting held between the High Commissioner and the President centred on enhancing cooperation in the fields of Information and Communication Technology, e-Governance, tourism and exploring opportunities in Coal and Gem sectors. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique, Jose Condugua Antonio Pacheco also participated at this discussion.
High Commissioner Mallimaratchi expressed his desire to further strengthen the coordinal relations whilst looking for economic opportunities to expand the cooperation between the two countries.
