High Commissioner -designate of Sri Lanka to the Republic of South Africa, Sirisena Amarasekara presented the Open Copy of his Letter of Credence to the Deputy Chief of State Protocol Ebrahim Edries on 09 December 2020, before the formal and ceremonial presentation of Credentials to the President of the Republic of South Africa.
The Deputy Chief of State Protocol Ebrahim Edries wished the High Commissioner -designate success in his new assignment as the Envoy of Sri Lanka to the Republic of South Africa. Further, Mr. Edries assured the High Commissioner the fullest support, cooperation and facilitation, in all spheres for further strengthening, widening and elevating bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and South Africa. In addition, Mr. Edries stated the South Africa’s keenness to enhance existing relations with South Asia including Sri Lanka.
High Commissioner Amarasekara thanked Mr. Edries for his arrangement for the meeting and stated his desire to grow and maximise the existing relations between South Africa and Sri Lanka. Further, the High Commissioner pointed out the areas of common interests for both the Countries to work together for the benefits of two nations.
Minister Counsellor Priyangani Hewarathna and Trade Secretary Sanjeewa Bandara of the High Commission accompanied High Commissioner- designate to the meeting.
