FAM Tour of Bangladeshi Tour Operators Strengthens Tourism Cooperation

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Dhaka, with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), organised a Familiarization (FAM) tour for a group of six identified tour operators from Bangladesh who are keen to promote Sri Lanka as a viable and most sought after tourism destination. As part of the series of tourism promotional programmes, this 08-day tour to Sri Lanka, was organised from 1-8 December.

During their 8-day stay in Sri Lanka, the tour operators visited several iconic and historically important sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic, tea plantations,  a tea factory in Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala National Park, Galle, and a few locations in Colombo.

The visiting delegates had B2B meetings with around 50 tour operators and hoteliers in Sri Lanka and discussed the way forward for further collaboration of promoting Sri Lanka as a preferred travel destination among Bangladesh travelers.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka will continue its cooperation and interaction with the tour operators of Bangladesh by arranging various promotional programmes including FAM tours to attract more Bangladeshi tourists to Sri Lanka, targeting its highly potential outbound tourism market.
